Fitness queen Zoe aims for new high

FITNESS: It was the opportunity to change her life that drove Wynnum’s Zoe Gray towards body building.

Gray, who started body building in 2011, has impressed at national competitions and will look to do the same at the International Federation of Body Builders Australasian Championships in March.

A club manager at Wynnum’s Stepz Fitness, Gray said she wanted to achieve the ultimate fitness level.

‘‘Before I started body building, I wasn’t looking exactly the way I wanted to look,’’ she said.

‘‘So I got into it and just saw it as an opportunity to change my life and I took it.’’

After she finished fourth at the same competition last year, Gray said her goal was definitely to come in the top three in the figure novice division.

‘‘Last year when I came fourth it was probably the best day of my life. It was a great feeling so hopefully I can better that this year,’’ she said.

‘‘I thought last year’s result was pretty good considering many of those girls have been competing for years.’’
